What is Interworking?
Interworking is essential in enabling different parts of the converged network that operate under unique standards and protocols to communicate and interoperate with each other, such as legacy network elements to next generation IP elements. For example, ATM to Ethernet interworking bridges ATM and Ethernet networks. A Gateway is the typical product associated with interworking. Interphase offers both a "gateway on a card" solution and a gateway appliance solution for interworking.
Interphase Gateway Appliances
Interphase offers two versions standalone gateway that are specifically built for Convergence, Wireless, and Multimedia applications, such as specialized resource points (SRP), messaging servers, multimedia servers, voice portals, NGN IP media servers, IP PBXs / contact centers, SMS/MMS Centres (SMSC), and HMP applications.

Interphase Gateway on a Card
The innovative and highly cost-effective "gateway on a card" from Interphase enables equipment manufacturers to eliminate an expensive ATM switch from the network design in the case where the application only needs the interworking capability of the ATM switch. The ATM-IP Interworking card enables the equipment manufacturer to integrate the gateway functionality right into their existing network element.
Integrated Interworking Card
Equipment designers can choose between two Interphase interworking cards, depending on whether they require a channelized solution. Both cards provide a complete Interworking solution: the ATM to IP interworking software, a command line interface, and reliable, field-tested hardware. These application-ready interworking cards have been successfully deployed by demanding customers in many types of applications, including IP Access, WiMAX Gateway, 3G RNC, and LTE eNodeB.
