Providing the highest levels of overall system performance while conserving valuable PCI Express slots, the 562GL and 564GL are ideal solutions for the new generation of small footprint and rack mounted servers that have limited expansion options for multiple Ethernet connections. Designed for high-end enterprise environments, the SlotOptimizer 562GL and 564GL adapters implement a highly efficient PCI Express bus for demanding network server applications. Each Gigabit Ethernet port on the SlotOptimizer 562GL and 564GL supports auto-negotiation allowing the cards to configure to the best possible mode of operation over a link, ensuring the highest possible performance.

Based on the Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet controller, the 564GL features a x4 PCI Express interface, and four independent 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports with RJ45 connectors, while the 562GL features an x4 PCI Express interface, and two 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports with RJ45 connectors. In addition to delivering Gigabit Ethernet networking, the 562GL and 564GL support advanced features such as CPU task offload (TCP, IP, UDP checksum, and Microsoft Large Send Offload), priority queuing, Virtual LANs, jumbo frames, flow control, link aggregation and failover.
