PLANO, Texas -- January 24, 2006 -- Interphase Corporation (NASDAQ: INPH), a leading international supplier of next-generation networking technologies, today announced that Fujitsu Limited, a leader in mission critical computing, has selected the new Interphase SlotOptimizer™ 554GB PCI/PCI-X Quad-Port Gigabit Ethernet Adapter for its PRIMEPOWER™ family of Solaris™ OS and SPARC®-based servers. The combination of PRIMEPOWER and the Interphase SlotOptimizer Quad-Port Gigabit Ethernet cards matches the performance and high availability requirements of a wide range of applications, from the enterprise to the workgroup.
The SlotOptimizer 554GB PCI/PCI-X Quad-Port Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is the most recent addition to the Interphase SlotOptimizer product family, and is designed to maximize the number of gigabit Ethernet ports available from a single system slot, offering high-availability while conserving valuable input/output slots. Interphase designed the product to meet the stringent environmental standards that have been adopted for deployment across Europe and many parts of Asia in accordance with directives on the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE.)

The Interphase SlotOptimizer 554GB is designed for use in high-availability server and router applications such as enterprise network servers, low-profile rack mount servers, multi-channel ISP routers, high-availability firewalls and cache servers, Internet servers and appliance servers. Features include four independent 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports on a standard PCI half card form factor with support for universal signaling, 64- or 32-bit PCI-X 1.0 or PCI 2.2 buses, auto negotiation that automatically detects and configures the link speed and the duplex type of the network connection, plug-and-play compatibility for PCI Local Bus 2.2 and PCI-X 1.0 compliant host systems, and per port LED indicators to show link status, link speed and link activity. Driver support for the 554GB includes Linux®and Solaris™.
