The 5585 performs intelligent packet processing including header analysis, payload extraction, compression, encryption, authentication, and packet assembly.

Reduces Processor Overhead
The 5585 performs transactional processing required for inspecting, decrypting, encrypting, and compressing the header and contents of an individual packet, on-board, without having to rely on the CPU to manage routing functions resulting in high availability.

Reduce Packet Latency
By offloading the security functions to highly optimized security processor, packet latency is reduced, increasing the throughput of the host platform, providing high bandwidth for the overall network solution.
